Are you using it still?
When I was about 7 years old, my mother sat me down in front of her sewing machine and began teaching me to sew. That machine was (and is) a White 77. I used that White until the late '60's when Mom gave me a beautiful Kenmore 150.14001 zig-zag machine that I used for many years. My much-loved mother is long gone but I still have that machine and it still runs. I don't use it but fire it up periodically so it won't freeze up. Sadly, the 3 control knobs on the front have dried up, crumbled and fallen off, but since it still works, that doesn't matter to me. It's very easy to use, but back then the nuts used to change the needle and presser foot were difficult to turn and always made my little fingers sore!
Nowadays I use a big Brother VQ3000 for most of my quilting and sewing and I bought a Kenmore 158 just like the one I had before, to use as my backup. They are both terrific machines and get lots of use but I'll never part with the old White 77 as I still can visualize Mom sitting there with me as I learned to sew - wonderful memories!Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15039454283211801650noreply@blogger.com
