What Have I Been Doing?

Image
Well, I've been up to quite a LOT  (sewing wise). I tried out paper piecing, finally, for two Fallout themed wall hanging:     I made a few thread catchers for my two machines (only took a photo of one though).     I got my tattoo finished (the Ooogie Boogie wall hanging was given to my tattoo artist) I also started on an experimental piece which broke my brain trying to figure out how to do it in both/either Quilting Assistant and/or Electric Quilt. You can take a look at the guide I made to and what I have done so far.   Here is a cute pic of my kitty to make it all okay.

What Have I Been Up To?

Image
I haven't updated this blog lately, sorry. If you have been around my facebook page, you might have caught a few updates. Shock and Barrel are up on the website. Shock has even been tested, so that is awesome! Adult MacCready has made his appearance on the page! Also, TheNightMotherWrites made a set throw pillows from my Fallout 4 Factions cross stich patterns, which is AMAZING! I've also been plugging away at my scrap quilt. I'm a bit more than half way there (~60/91 scrap block and ~70/91 solid blocks). Of course, I have decided to make a few jelly roll lap quilts once I am done with that... or maybe while I'm working on that because... why not? I'm also thinking about trying the shop function on Ko-Fi to list a pattern (made in EQ, not QA) or two for sale. This is just a trial... I'm not sure how well it will work and I am just in the planning stages at this point. It is something I have wanted to do for ages with my weebly site, but I would have to bump u...

Lots of Updates

I'll try to keep this short, but there are quite a few new things up on the site! First off, I edited the layout (at least if you are not on mobile) so that there isnt as much scrolling involved when searching for a pattern. The pictures are a little bit smaller now, but I think it easier to navigate. Second, I've put up Jacques LaLean and Ginger the Tap Dancing Spider up for the Beetlejuice cartoon blocks. They have a bit more embroidery/outlining than a lot of my other designs (particularly Ginger), but I think that is because of the way they are drawn (ie cartoon). I tried to make them without so much, and they just didn't look right. Also, I put up a Pumpkin from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I based the pattern on a restoration of an actual set piece, so it is pretty darn authentic! It is also a pretty intricate pattern, so if you want a challenge, feel free to try it. You can thank Burton's hate of straight lines for that! It is up for testing, so a...

Cross Stitch/Color Work Patterns

Image
I've been making some Fallout 4 patterns, but they are not quilting patterns. Since Ravelry no longer allows for the posting of color work charts, I decided to do it myself and post these new patterns on my own site. These are for PERSONAL NON COMMERCIAL use. They can be used for cross stitch pattern, knitting color work or anything else you might find them useful for. You can find all my new non-quilting patterns HERE . Here is just a taste of the 8 patterns you can find up on the site!

Upcoming New Patterns

I am excited to show that I am combining two of my favorite things... making these quilting patterns and the video game Fallout. I decided to try to immortalize my favorite bacon husband companion by making him into a quilting block! I give you the wonderfully charismatic junkie mayor of the great town of Goodneighbor: JOHN HANCOCK! Isn't he just precious? I have this pattern almost done... I just need to convert stuff into PDFs and combine them (for some reason the most tedious step for me). The other one I have coming down the line is Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Who wants to be the first to make this good boy? I still need to write up the instructions for this lovely block, but I hope to get that done soon! I hope you enjoyed my update! -UPDATE- And Hancock is up and ready to be tested!
