Joker and Harley

Image
Well, it is official, Joker and Harley are "up" . "Up" because the file size is too large for the free version of weebly. If you really want to try this huge piece and share in my madness, you are going to have to contact me so I can send it to you. I hope some day to be able to afford to upgrade, but at the moment that just isnt going to happen. If any brave soul out there tries this pattern, please share with me your final version. I would love to see how it comes out!

I have not been lazy, but I have a lot of things that are not quite ready to see the light of day. I finally updated my " Other Blocks " section of my website.. but I wanted to show them off here too. Here I can talk a little bit about each one and the progress that needs to happen before I can send them out into the great interwebs. First up I have a small update with my Corpse Bride: Black Widow. My kind tester gave me a little bit of feedback and I have updated the pattern (the current one is still fine, I just combined two pieces) but I have yet to turn it into a proper PDF. That work must be done at night after the munchkins go to bed and I can use my home computer to do this stuff. Anyway, here is the tested piece! Next are some Harley Quinn themed easy geometric blocks. They will go together to make the larger quilt I hinted at last time I blogged . I actually have these printed out at home because I want to get my skills on par so I can make a full scale quilt ...

Not a Big Update... but an Update None the Less

I'm not sure how much I am going to be able to update in the near future. I am mere minutes away from taking my ailing sewing machine into the shop. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with it. The thing is old, mostly metal and a work horse (when it is working). I don't really want a new one, because the ones I can afford -and by afford I mean save for a year or more... because I don't have money for a new sewing machine- is going to be plastic and crappy. So no new sewing stuff for a while. I have, how ever, been working on cleaning up the first design I ever made. I have it down to 13 colors and I think it is just about ready to be submitted for testing. I love it. I hope some day to have thew quilting chops (and time) to attempt it. I have loved Harley since her debut in the old Batman cartoon. Now, I know her relationship with Joker is toxic and incredibly abusive. It is no way something you should aim for with a relationship. But I do connect with her total ...

And Here We Go...

I am starting this blog to keep track and encourage myself to finish a quilting project from the start to completion. That means I am going to design, build and complete a quilt completely for me and my family. I may ad some other designs etc. as I go, but the main goal is to create a "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Corpse Bride" themed quilt. Both of these movies hold special significance to my husband and I, as well as our family. I just started learning how to pattern for paper piecing using Quilt Assistant . I have only ever made 2 extremely basic quilts and I have never tried paper piecing. There will be a stiff learning curve, I am sure. I have been introduced to the website Fandom in Stitches . I hope to have these patterns tested and posted there some day. If anything, I need some smaller goals to keep me focused. In addition to being a fledgling quilter, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, loom knitting, afghan crochet and gaming. I am a scientist ...
