I have been working on a few little sewing projects, but what I want to show you are 2 patterns I have in the works for a tattoo themed quilt block collection I have had buzzing in my brain for a while. These are probably the easiest ones: 2 Nautical Stars. I tried for a long time to create these in EQ7... and OMG, it was like pulling teeth. From what I can figure out, they have no radial symmetry tool, and this is what this kind of design is built off of. I ended up doing it in Quilting Assistant and banged them both out in 20 minutes. I think I am just going to have to figure out how to export block to EQ7 and then publish them from there some how (so I can finally try and possibly charge for my original works). It amazes me how much functionality a free software program has vs one that costs buttloads. I hope this summer to publish more of in my Tim Burton blocks, I should have more time. I also need to figure out how to get some bras on the clothesline to go with my undie...

Long Time... New Lydia

Image
I know I haven't been around a lot, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten about this! I just posted a new pattern. Lydia from the Beetlejuice cartoons . She was a huge influence to me growing up. I hope you love her as well.

Christmas Ravioli

Image
I know I haven't updated in a while, but I wanted to share some holiday cheer. I improvised an ornament pattern this year that would let my 3 and 5 year old join in the crafting fun. They helped trace the pattern, cut out the shapes, cut the ribbons to length and stuff them. They are far from perfect, but full of love! They are double sided (hopefully to increase the chances of them matching with people's decor). Happy Holidays!

A Quick Boogie!

Just a real quick blog... Oogie Boogie is now up on Fandom-in-Stitches! Go show him some love!

Duck Toy Tested

Image
The Duck Toy from The Nightmare Before Christmas has been tested... and I will be submitting it for inclusion on the Fandom-in-Stitches site. It is already on display in my tiny gallery , but I want to put out a proper thank you again to Sharon Garner Powell for all her hard work! I am also glad to hear that it went together pretty easily, even though it has some pretty small fiddly bits to it. Isn't it beautiful?! It is ready to give you a bunch of love bites! On another happy note, Victoria got released on Fandom-in-Stitches over the weekend! Another feather in my designing cap! My Tim Burton collection is coming to life!

Quicky (pads)

Image
I have had to take a hiatus from sewing because of my wrist, plus a 2 week vacation. Once I got back, I whipped these up real quick (on my old machine, now named Great White, because my Pfaff is being a butt). I got these from a pad seller who was nice enough to create a pad "kit" for me. I just don't have the time or the patience to figure out what kind of fabric I want, buy it, cut it out and also try and do the same thing with snap closures. The kit came with everything I needed, cut out and ready to go, including hardware. It was great to get back in the saddle again!

A Special Thanks

Image
I want to put a special thanks out there to two very special people. Those people are Sharon Garner Powell (Oogie Boogie) and Jeaux Minvielle at JeauxsDesigns.com  (Victoria)! They are the wonderful people who have tested two of my new Tim Burton blocks and lived to tell the tale... and suggest a few changes to make them easier (which are now updated on my site ). That also means I am in the process of submitting the two of them for the Fandom in Stitches site. In appreciation of all those brave souls who try out my patterns, I have made a new " Quilt Gallery " section to my website to showcase those who test/make/show so move for my patterns (shared always with permission).  Again, thank you soooooo much! Thank you for helping me improve and I hope you love what I have created so far... and what I have yet to create in the future!
